1. Who this is
This is John Muthee Maina's personal site at https://john.muthee.mutexai.net. I do not use any analytics or tracking service. There are no ad trackers and no cross-site cookies.
2. What I collect
- Contact form: the name, email, and optionally company and phone number, and message you submit.
- Newsletter: your email address, and the date you subscribed or unsubscribed.
- Site assistant conversations: what you type and the assistant's replies, so it can answer you and I can review anything it flags.
- Server logs: IP address and pages requested, kept briefly to keep the site working and secure.
3. How I use it
- To reply to your message.
- To send Build notes if you subscribed. Every issue has an unsubscribe link.
- To answer questions through the site assistant.
- To keep the site secure and working.
4. The site assistant
The assistant is powered by a large language model from Anthropic. Messages you send it are passed to Anthropic's API to generate a reply. Anthropic does not use API data to train its models by default. Do not share passwords, payment details or other sensitive information with it.
5. Sharing
I do not sell or rent your data. It is shared only with the services that run the site: my hosting provider, my email delivery provider, and Anthropic for the assistant.
6. Retention
Contact messages are kept for up to two years. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Assistant conversations are kept for up to 90 days.
7. Cookies
I use a session cookie and a security token required for forms to work, and store your light or dark theme choice in your browser. No analytics or advertising cookies.
8. Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time. Email johnmuthee547@gmail.com and I will handle it within 30 days.
9. Changes
I will update this page and the date above if anything changes.
