A VS Code extension that reads the whole workspace, writes files live as it streams, runs terminal commands with approval, and ends every task in an explicit COMPLETE, INCOMPLETE or BLOCKED state.

Why#

I wanted a coding agent that lived in my editor: full workspace awareness across hundreds of files, live file writes, and command execution I approve, not a chat window I copy code out of.

How it works#

Andor assembles context automatically instead of sending the whole repo or a single file, and writes files as it streams with checkpoints that let you revert a whole turn. It works through explicit stages, analysis, plan, execution, verification, and ends with a completion state instead of a cheerful summary: COMPLETE, INCOMPLETE, or BLOCKED with the blockers listed. It supports several model providers, including a free tier through Puter.js (Claude, GPT-4o, Gemini, DeepSeek, Llama), NVIDIA NIM, OpenRouter and Google Gemini, so it is usable without a paid API key.
