A deterministic pipeline that clones a repository, installs and runs its tests, and diagnoses failures into a report formatted to paste straight into a pull request or issue, with the LLM step kept out of the critical path.

Why#

Most failing-test diagnosis is pattern matching, not reasoning: a missing environment variable, a network timeout, an assertion diff. repo-doctor does the deterministic part first, so it is fast and trustworthy before any model gets involved.

How it works#

The pipeline is clone, install, run tests, diagnose, report. It scans test output for known patterns (failing test names, assertion diffs, missing env vars, network timeouts) across Jest, Vitest and Mocha, and writes a markdown report shaped for a PR description or issue comment. npm install -g repo-doctor or npx repo-doctor check <github-url>.

Status#

v0.x, pattern-based diagnosis working for Jest, Vitest and Mocha. LLM-assisted root-cause analysis, for cases the patterns miss, is on the roadmap, deliberately as an addition on top of the deterministic pipeline rather than a replacement for it.
